Residents of Valley, listen for sustained ringing of Mr. Brintnall’s large bell. SCHOOL BUSES SAVING GASOLINE AND TIRES Supt. M. B. Caldwell of the Tryon school district, reports that the Tryon school bus has cut its mileage by miles thus shortening the distance the bus has to travel. And instead of making 30 stops the bus now makes 18. The travel ing distance has been reduced over 12 per cent. The fewer stops will also save gasoline. Some of the local children are walking as much as 1 Vz miles to meet the bus, but the patrons of the school realize that a war is on and are . glad to cooperate in every way possible to help win it, said Supt. Caldwell. Masons Meet Monday The Jeff L. Nelson Masonic Lodge will meet Monday night at 8 o’clock at the lodge in Trvon. W. E. Spangle, W. M. KIWANIS TUESDAY Tryon Kiwanis club will meet Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Oak Hall.
